Dr. Michael Ojea
Dr. Michael Ojea is an experienced Senior Osteopath with a special interest in treating headaches, chronic pain, and sports injuries, helping people move better, feel stronger, and live pain-free.
He holds a Master of Health Science (Osteopathy) and a Bachelor of Science (Osteopathy) from Victoria University. Many in the Berwick Osteopathy community will recognise Michael, who joined the team as a receptionist back in 2017 before transitioning into clinical practice in 2020.
Michael’s passion for osteopathy began with his older brother Martin, also a senior osteopath. But it was a personal health journey that shaped his deeper understanding of the profession. At just 20, Michael was diagnosed with leukemia. Osteopathic treatment played a pivotal role in managing the physical toll of chemotherapy and hospitalisation. Now in remission, he brings that lived experience into every consultation, deeply committed to helping others navigate pain and reclaim their lives.
Clinically, Michael focuses on treating headaches, migraines, chronic musculoskeletal pain, and functional issues in active individuals. He also works extensively with combat athletes and bodybuilders, drawing on his background in high-performance training.
Outside of practice, Michael is a lead educator with GEMt (Global Education of Manual Therapists), where he teaches postgraduate courses in dry needling and joint mobilisation/manipulation.
He maintains an active lifestyle himself, training regularly in weightlifting, boxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Michael has been a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor since 2015, and strongly believes that long-term health begins with movement, strength, and self-awareness.
Whether you’re dealing with persistent pain, recovering from injury, or looking to improve performance, Michael is here to support you every step of the way.
