Dr. Melijah Maghanoy
Dr. Melijah Maghanoy graduated in 2002 with distinction from RMIT Bachelor of Applied Science (Clinical Science) / Bachelor of Osteopathic Science. Since graduating she has worked in a number of clinics across Melbourne and overseas.
Melijah was inspired to become an osteopath at a young age when her interest in health and healing led her to learn about the bodies amazing inherent nature to heal given the correct environment. She believes that osteopathic treatments play a significant role in assisting this healing process and combined with many other positive factors such as knowing how to live a healthy lifestyle, each individual has the ability to evolve towards optimal health.
Melijah’s strengths are in her ability to treat a diverse range of patients from newborns and children through to the elderly and her ability to use a broad range of techniques tailored to each individuals needs. Melijah has a particular interest in women's health and has helped many women before, throughout and after their pregnancies. She believes that body has the most amazing inherent ability to reproduce and osteopathy can assist with this process which may reduce many common symptoms experienced at this time such as back pain, sciatica, breathlessness, indigestion, pins and needles and headaches. Osteopathic treatment may also play an important role in post pregnancy rehabilitation.
Melijah has been working at Berwick Osteopathy since 2005 and now light heartedly describes many of her patients and colleagues as ‘family’. She admits that she loves going to work. In addition to working in other clinics around Melbourne and Phillip Island she has loved working as an osteopath for international surf events in the Philippines.
When not working her other passions include yoga, surfing, open water swimming, fitness training, music, preparing wholesome wholefoods for friends and family, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and most of all spending time with her two children.
