Osteopathy

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a form of manual healthcare that recognises the important link between the structure of the body and its ability to function at its maximum ability.  After five years of University training and compulsory continued education every year, our Osteopaths are able to use skilled evaluation and diagnostic training to discuss with you a reason and educate you about the cause of your pain, and create a unique, specific and tailor made treatment plan for you.

Our osteopathic techniques include:

  • Soft tissue massage

  • Trigger point release

  • Stretching and muscle energy techniques

  • Mobilisation or articulation of joints

  • Manipulation

  • Dry Needling

  • Craniosacral Therapy

  • Home exercise prescription and advice

Our osteopaths will listen to what is important to you, what your expectations from treatment are, and will do everything they can to get you back on track and having fun with life.

What happens if Osteopathy can’t help me?

With our excellent referral networks including GP's, sports doctors, orthopaedic surgeons, podiatrists, physiotherapists and exercise physiologists, if we believe that Osteopathy will not help your condition then we will help you to arrange the necessary level of care for you, and will continue to check in with you, as our care continues, even after you have walked out of the clinic.

Do I need a referral?

No, you do not need a referral from a GP to see an Osteopath, and we accept on the spot rebates through all private health funds.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring with you any relevant reports from X-rays, MRI scans, CT scans or other imaging. If you have been given a home exercise program from another therapist it may also be helpful to know what they have prescribed, so that we can work in conjunction with them.
