Under Melbourne’s new Stage 4 restrictions, DHHS has stated that face-to-face treatment can only be provided: “if the absence of, or delay of this care, would result in a significant change/deterioration in the patient’s functional independence necessitating escalation of care.”
For this reason, face-to-face consultations will only be provided if your condition is considered URGENT and ESSENTIAL for the next 6 weeks! We will determine urgent and essential care based on whether your condition is likely to lead to a significant deterioration in your health and/or well-being. In all other circumstances, we are not allowed to see you for a face-to-face appointment. We have been made aware severe penalties will apply if breached.
If you find your condition significantly deteriorating or think that without our treatment you’ll require specialist medical care or worse hospital admission, please contact us immediately. We will continue to answer phone calls and emails, ensuring that you will be able to speak to one of our therapists regarding your condition.
As part of the regulations set out by the DHHS, we will conduct over the phone pre-screening measures to assess whether you meet the criteria for a face-to-face appointment. If you do not meet the criteria we can provide you with advice and management strategies to best help you through these next 6 weeks.
Once stage 4 restrictions ease, we will be back to full-time capacity, permitting that DHHS allows it.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during these difficult and unprecedented times. Please stay safe and healthy.
Yours in good health,
